“A Local Author Extravaganza,” hosted by Carson City’s A to Zen, presents more than a dozen area authors as well as local artists. This free event will be held on Sat., November 14 from noon to 6 p.m. at A to Zen, 1803 North Carson Street. Kathleen Berry will be one of the featured speakers, giving a 15 minute presentation on Real Life Ghost Stories at 2:20 p.m. at the store.
Confirmed authors are: Berry (spirituality/paranormal memoir), Patty Cafferata (Nevada history), Mark Douglas (Korean War novels), Peggy Rew (pet care/safety), C.W. Bayer (local history/music), Virginia Castleman (children’s and middle-grade novelist), Carol Purroy (memoir), April Kempler (memoir), Laura Newman (short stories), D.L. Whitehead (horror/thrillers), Theresa Thornton (novelist), Rick Cornell (mystery/suspense), Bill W. Morgan, and the publisher of “What’s The Story,” a newsletter. In addition, the owner of A to Zen will have a small display section of books by the store owner’s parents, James and Starr McKimmey.
